Will it ever end?! This our third post about the cheapest breakfasts you can find in Warsaw, and there are still more to come in the future! I’m certainly not omplaining. Eating out is my favourite thing to do, especially in the morning when I’m too dead to prepare anything myself. Check out our previous breakfast posts here & here, if you haven’t already.

If you don’t know about our obsession with breakfast spots here’s what it’s all about: we started a few weeks back and continue to visit all the restaurants with special breakfast offers. What does it mean? It means that there must be some kind of discount, so you either pay for the food and get coffee for free or the other way round. During our mission we encountered many different types of breakfast offers but the main goal is to eat good food and ingest some caffeine for no more than 5 euro. In majority of places it works that way only on weekdays, but this time we managed to find two really cool places where you can eat amazing affordable breakfast on the weekend as well.

Shipudei Berek

We started off really well because we went to Berek restaurant which, I must admit, is our favourite so far. It’s a modern Israeli restaurant where you can choose from many different breakfast plates. The food is truly delious, the portions are enormous and the staff is great (altough it depends, I went back there  recently and the experience was totally different, but hopefully you’ll come across someone like the waitress we encountered when we were there for the first time). What’s more, the food is the cheapest from all the restaurants in Warsaw that we visited so far. There are two different types of breakfast offer. There’s a cheaper, classic option (you pay for the coffee and get breakfast for free) and an executive option which works the other way round. There’re two different lists of plates that you can choose from, depending which option you prefer. Of course we checked out the cheaper one, as this is our mission.

It wasn’t easy to make a choice. Everything on the menu seems really good so we spent some time debating what to chose. Finally we ordered hummus served with pita bread, an omlet with a few different sides and a breakfast pizza with shakshuka on top. The waitress made it all easier for us and she brought us small plates and put the rest of food in the middle so that we could share everything. Perfect! There was so much delicious food that we didn’t manage to finish it all. But we really tried as everything was delicious.

Deal: Cheaper option is to choose from a list of ‘breakfast classics’ and pay just for coffee. The fancier version is called ‘the executive breakfast’ – you pay for breakfast and get any coffee or tea for free. Both offers are available on weekdays as well as on the weekends, but I highly recommend booking a table in advance if you want to go there on the weekend, otherwise you might have to wait for a little while.

Rating: 10/10. It’s the first restaurant ever taht we give a maximum score! The place is cool, the food delicious and the portions are big enough to keep you going for many hours.

Biała – zjedz i wypij

Another day, another tasty breakfast. This time we went to Saska Kępa to check out a cute restaurant on Francuska street. I love the retro vibe of the place – the furniture, the plants and the glass conservatory (or however it’s called). The staff are wearing retro skirts with polka dots which makes the place even cuter. When I visited the place was clean and I really have nothing bad to say about it, however Mięta was there a few years later and he complained about the terribly dirty table. Hopefully it was a one time thing.

There’s quite a few breakfast options to choose from, but they’re mostly based around traditionally Polish ingredients which I like a lot and find refreshing. We order two different versions of podpłomyk, which is a traditional Slavic kind of flat bread. Our first choice is the one with smoked fish pasta and a poached egg. The other is served with a homemade white sausage. I don’t even like sausage and this one was trully delicious!

Deal: From monday to friday you get any breakfast for just 2 złote if you buy a coffee (which, I must admit is the most expensive coffee out of all the places we visited so far), but still you’ll manage to eat good food for around 5 euro.

Rating: 8/10. Food is delicious and we’ll definitely come back for more. The coffee could be cheaper to be honest.

Centrum Zarządzania Światem

Next it’s time to go across the river to Praga District as we visit CZŚ restaurant (no to be mistaken with CZŻ+ that I previously written about). I’ve never been here before so I was exited to check out a new spot. My friend lives really close and she kept on recommending the place so it was about time to finally go there. It’s not crowded so it’s perfect for ‘out of home office’ type of day. Mięta cheated a bit on this one. He came earlier and ate one breakfast before we even showed up. Therefore we have no pictures of eggs, but we just have to trust him when he says they were really good.

In CZŚ there’s a breakfast offer that we tend to call ‘the other way round’, meaning you pay for your breakfast and get coffee for free. We thought it meant it will be more expensive, but we were actually wrong. All of the breakfast options on the menu are cheaper than 5 euro, which is our magic number. The food is really good. Mięta decided to indulge and he bought two different plates. Besides fried eggs he chose the dessert option which is crossaints served with cream, fresh fruit, honey and white chocolate. Delicious! We ate half of his portion. I’m not a huge fan of sweet breakfast so I went for a sandwich with ham and cheese made out of sheep’s milk. We tried salmon sandwich as well. Both were really tasty and were enough to feel full.

Rating: 7/10. Good food and a nice, quiet place, ideal for business meetings.

How U Doin’

Next up is a caffe inspired by ‘Friends’ TV show. The first time we tried visiting it it was closed (I think they were filming something in there) the other time we were lucky and we managed to get a table. I’m not really a ‘Friends’ fan (don’t kill me!) so I don’t really know what the interior design has to do with the TV show. What I actually cared about is food. The good thing is that you’ll only pay 10 zł (3 euro) for a set of breakfast plate and coffee. Bargain!

We ordered huge cups of coffee and three different breakfast options. We tried scrambled eggs with bacon, sausages served with dry tomatoes and a ciabatta bread and a salad with goat’s cheese and beetroots. The last one was deffinitely the best. We wanted to try salmon as well, but they were out. The sausages were the weakest link in this scenario. The whole thing was just a bit too greasy. But overall everything was ok. I guess after so many different breakfast experiences we’re just a little spoiled.

Deal: Pay for breakfast and get a classic coffee for free. We ordered different kinds of coffee so it wasn’t as cheap, but still I paid just 13 złoty for my brekafast and a cappuccino.

Rating: 6/10. It was ok, nothing special, but definitely cheap. And the interior is cool.

U Rysia

This one is a hidden gem! Especially if you like fish. And we do. I’ve never heard of this place, but my friends who are originally from Warsaw remember that there always was a shop selling fresh fish on Rysia Street. It’s still open, just opposite U Rysia restaurant. The restaurtant it self is very fish-centric. There’s nautical decor, fresh fish on a menu and a little deli where you can buy fish to go. We love it!

U Rysia

There’s ‘the other way round’ offer available in U Rysia restaurant, so you pay for your breakfast and get coffee for free. What’s important is that it’s available on the weekends as well. Almost all of the breakfast options are available for less than 5 euro, so we were definitely happy with that. We tried three different fish-based breakfast plates and they were all amazing. We went for a sandwich with fresh fish and cilantro sauce, a toaste with different type of fish served with poached egg on top as well as a fish omlet. Sorry I have no idea how the fish kinds are called in engliush so I’m not even going to try and translate them. The important thing is we tried three different kinds and they were all awsome! The coffee is not as good, but the food definitely makes up for that.

Rating: 9/10. We love it and we’ll definitely come back for more! The staff is amazing and helpful as well. if it wasn’t for the coffee it would be a solid 10 out of 10.
