The first thing on my mind when I think of Pacyfik Bar is a popular sea shanty that we always sing when we are sailing (however the lyrics has nothing to do with Pacific Ocean in the english version of the song). But this post will not be about sailing at all, because this bar is not a sailors’ bar. You know, this is only my connotation…
Bar Pacyfik is located on Hoża street in the strict city center, close to everything. There’s a huge selection of alcohols – beers from local brewery Inne Beczki and others, vodka, gin and mexican mezcal. There are also many different food options on the menu. If you have friends who are vegan, vegetarian or meat lovers you can take them all at once to Pacyfik Bar and all of them will be satisfied and full. You are not an alcohol lover? No problem! You will not be forced to drink only coke or juice. And I respect this because why should I be discriminated because I don’t drink alcohol? Earl Grey with pomegranate, orange and honey was perfect and not so sweet. Yum!
Dietetitian’s nightmare
Mac’n’cheese sandwich is a bomb of carbs, fat, cheese, pasta, flavour, everything! There was a fight for the last bite. I don’t even know why we had only one of this for two people. Oh yes, I know… we wanted to try more and more, and having this sandwich before your sleep – not a good idea. I’m seriosuly in love with a person who invented this sandwich. He was mad when he created this but I love him or her. I will for sure come back to eat it again, this time all by myself.
If you order the Tijuana street fries you can choose a version with meat or with jackfruit. On the plate you will find guacamole, sour cream, chipotle salsa and looooots of cilantro. Actually all the fries from the menu you can get in vegan or vegetarian version. Pacyfik is offering lighter food as well. I need to check out a bowl with kimchi or tuna, shrimp cocktail and of course our favorite tacos – Balmas get ready for this!
I will not eat anything more… Well maybe a cheesecake.
After telling the waitress that it was so good that we want more and more, with a smile on our faces, we decided to eatdessert. Unicorn cheesecake (WTF??!!) and Churro gelato – those were our choices.There are only two desserts on the menu, and maybe good because dessert wasn’t as good as rest the of the food.
Cheesecake is made of cashew nuts, dates and other nuts. It really looked like rainbow mixed with unicorn, but the flavour wasn’t anything special. Very delicate flavour of cheesecake was overwhelmed by coconut sprinkle. Churro gelato were made with ice-creams from ‘Tłusty Kotek’ ice cream place in Warsaw. All was lavishly topped with chocolate. The bowl was made out of churros. In my opinion it would be a better idea to have everything separate. They served chocolate in a separate bowl, so that you can dip your churros. It was good but not the best thing I’ve ever had. In the future I will stick to the main dishes – that’s my recommendation. In the end I am not even supposed to eat sweets.
Bar Pacyfik is a perfect place for an evening meeting with friends for a beer or a drink, but also to eat. On Fridays and Saturdays they even serve food till 3 a.m. I will come back for sure and this blissful smile will definitely appear on my face again. So will another love handle on my side 😉 Yum yum yum.
